Product Setup Examples

These examples show how different kinds of products can be set up in ShopCraft Standard — each with the exact steps to follow in the admin panel.

1. Simple Product

A Simple Product has one basic configuration — no options to choose. A store might use it for a product with:

• ✔One stock figure

• ✔SEO information

Example: a ceramic coffee mug — one SKU, one price, one stock number.

How to add a Simple Product

1. Open Products in the admin panel and choose Add Product.
2. Enter the Product Name, SKU and Category, and write the Description.
3. Upload the Main Image (and gallery images if you have them).
4. In the Product data box, keep the type set to Simple product.
5. In the Pricing panel enter the Regular Price (and a Sale Price if you need one).
6. Open the Inventory tab and enter the Stock Quantity.
7. Optionally fill in the SEO tab.
8. Click Save Product.

2. Variable Product

Use a Variable Product when one product is available in different options. For example:

Standard supports Variable Products with Material, Size, Color, Type and additional attributes. Each variation can have its own SKU, price, stock and photo.

How to add a Variable Product

1. (Optional) Open Products → Attributes to add your own attribute values and put them in the order you want.
2. Open Products → Add Product and enter the name, SKU, category, description and images.
3. In the Product data box, choose Variable product.
4. On the Attributes tab, tick the Materials, Sizes, Colors or Types you sell.
5. Click Generate Variations.
6. On the Variations tab, enter the SKU, price and stock for each variation, and a photo if you like.
7. Click Save Product.

3. Product Categories

Categories group products logically and make the store easier to browse. For example: Electronics, Fashion, Home & Living, Beauty & Personal Care, Hairdressing Products, Ready to Ship. You create your own structure to suit your business.

4. Product Attributes

Attributes describe a product and also create the options customers choose. Common attributes are Size, Color, Material, Type and Style.

5. Product Images

Good images help visitors understand a product. Standard supports:

• ✔Image alt text

Uploaded images are converted to WebP with thumbnails automatically, and the image file is named after the product SKU, which keeps your uploads folder tidy. The images in this demo are samples and can be replaced with your own photography.

6. Product Pricing

8. Product SEO

Prepare every product page for search engines with a URL slug, meta title, meta description and keywords. The site also builds an automatic sitemap.

10. Inquiry & Request for Quote

Standard is built around an inquiry-based workflow rather than online payment checkout:

Browse Product→Add to Cart→Send Inquiry→Business Reviews→Confirms Price & Shipping→Sends Quote

With Request for Quote, the business opens the inquiry in the admin panel, enters a quoted total and notes, and sends them to the customer by email. The customer then confirms with the business directly.
